Not so happy blizzards for some.

Yesterday afternoon, when my husband said we'd take a run to Costco I didn't think anything of it....even though there was a blizzard forecast to begin in the morning, we barely saw a sprinkling. As usual we just figured the weather predictions were wrong again...like they so often are. I guess a lot of other people thought the same thing. We went out only 2 hrs and the stores are 5 minutes from us. Coming home there were cars all over the roads going in every direction.

My husband, being the good samaritan he is, tried to help. They pushed these girls for 3 hrs and they got stuck again 1/4 mile down the freeway. One of their husbands was coming from Brooklyn to pick them up....assuming he never made it as we had a voice message at 1.30am and they were still waiting.

Not having grown up with snow I don't really understand why, even the emergency vehicles, and ploughs get stuck too. Further down our road there was a MTA right across the road, on a rather steep hill....with many vehicles stuck because they had to stop. Why, when in Europe they can get 2 ft of snow and it's as if nothing has happened.

This is something I've never experienced.

Sometimes weather forecasts are right, sometimes they're not. When it comes to blizzards, I err on the side of caution.....they might be right.
