What was I thinking?

Do you ever think you're getting too old. Well, I'm gonna guess most of you reading this blog right now aren't quite that close....but let me tell ya....when you start to get older....well....you wake up with aches & pains. And you start to think to yourself....I must be getting old....guess what they say about getting old is true....I don't feel this old, but maybe I have to start admitting my age to myself....What was I thinking?

NOT!!!

Not if you're Fran Woofenden. Can you believe her? Does she inspire you? When I saw this picture and read about her...I found a new hero. I wanna be just like her....at 80!!!

Actually right now would be good too. I grew up waterskiing, and after, let me see, the 5th child, I started to feel like I wasn't going to ski anymore. It was hard. And don't ski very often anymore. Then a friend broke her leg while she was learning....that really made me think twice. So I'm back to my Monday morning post...my get fit makeover. I haven't been posting it, because, it seems...everyone dropped out. I couldn't find anyone. So if you want to join me....post a comment and keep us updated on your blog.

Here's what I'm doing. I did slow down a lot on my time, but I've been managing to do some exercise twice a week, and walk once. Not enough....but for me it's better than nothing. I will keep you posted.

Sunday - walked about 1 mile.....

Dreaming of....velvet couches

"Mad World"

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world ... mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world

Wordless Wednesday - The Path

Renovation - The Old Pine Tree

I had been looking for these photos....finally dug deep enough. This was a bittersweet moment...as our 60ft pine had to be cut down. The boughs used to pass by my old bedroom window and my babies would be mezmorized when they lay on my bed....fascinated by the dancing branches, often covered with snow. It will always be a snapshot in my memory.

Tackle It Tuesday!!! Please let me pass!!!

Do you ever try as hard as you might to find a solution to a problem...and can't find one!! Thinking about it, most of my problems have been resolved. Some have left scares, some I've just learned to live with, some I can ignore, but there are a few that just seem to want to stay in the problem mode.

One of my biggest issues, is time. Yeh I'm sure you're all thinking, what else is new. Well, because it's my biggest it always seems to loom before me... I can't count the number of things I've tried to defeat it, keep it in it's place, ignore it (huh that's fun) beat it down, and turn it inside out...nothing has worked. The best way I found was to log every thing that needs to be done each day and put a number (ie minutes) next to it. This is so perfect on paper...but alas, life has a way of always running off the speedometer...road...or whatever track it runs on.

So here I am yet again, at the wall I can't seem to pass.

Now most people have a laundry day, or a shopping day...

sigh, I wish for those days sometimes. I think I'm going to have to have a laundry week, shopping week...etc, etc....I'm sure you get the picture.

So it will go something like this.....(gotta have a list...and I gotta tell someone about it or I just won't do it)

November
week 3 - catch up on reading... ...put all clothes away....do the daily chores (otherwise know as daily minimum) AND makeover
week 4 - Thanksgiving....family, family & family....and friends

December
week 1 - to be continued...

Fix-It Fridays

I have just started photographing with a point & shoot. I don't have any other photo programs other than Microsoft Picture It and Paint.net which I downloaded for free. I must admit I'm somewhat inhibited due to everyone's experience and tools....but we have to learn to use what we have, right? The original photo...

Here I used Paint.net and twitched the contrast using curves...then I brightened and contrasted to get a little more depth. Added a touch more colour as the photo lost some of it's colour.

This 2nd fix I took the 1st after I lightened it and moved it into Microsoft picture it...cropped...antiqued, then adjusted the contrast and deepened the colour just a touch more.

I don't think these are anywhere near what you'all are doing, some of the pics are so beautiful...maybe I'll get my pics to look like that someday.
