Happy New Year!

I'd better post this while I have the chance....I'm assuming with everyone home for the holidays and on the internet it's making my connections few and far between. It's also snowing again and I can't get connected when it's raining, snowing or really windy. Besides our house is freezing....when I was on the computer the other night my fingers were feeling like they had frozen.

Sorry I haven't been able to get back to everyone...I'm still hoping for a laptop to take up to my sometimes toasty room. The past 4 months you have all become a wonderful addition to my life...and I can't wait to catch up.

So...until later...wishing everyone a Happy New Year's....and a happy new year! Hope you are enjoying yourselves immensely with family & friends....and not eating too much :)

With all the resolutions that are going one...this is the one that I will hold to....I hope you know this song...if you don't find a copy...it's beautiful!

Mighty To Save

Well, everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing, let mercy fall on me
Well, everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour, the hope of nations

Saviour, He can move the mountains
For my God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save
Forever, author of Salvation
Where He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures, fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in, and now I surrender, I surrender

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save
Forever, author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave

Shine Your light and let the whole world see, we're singing
For the glory of the risen King, Jesus
Shine Your light and let the whole world see, we're singing
For the glory of the risen King

A Very Merry Christmas to All

Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

hubby brought these into our bedroom to hide them from the kids
....what was he thinking?

Not so happy blizzards for some.

Yesterday afternoon, when my husband said we'd take a run to Costco I didn't think anything of it....even though there was a blizzard forecast to begin in the morning, we barely saw a sprinkling. As usual we just figured the weather predictions were wrong again...like they so often are. I guess a lot of other people thought the same thing. We went out only 2 hrs and the stores are 5 minutes from us. Coming home there were cars all over the roads going in every direction.

My husband, being the good samaritan he is, tried to help. They pushed these girls for 3 hrs and they got stuck again 1/4 mile down the freeway. One of their husbands was coming from Brooklyn to pick them up....assuming he never made it as we had a voice message at 1.30am and they were still waiting.

Not having grown up with snow I don't really understand why, even the emergency vehicles, and ploughs get stuck too. Further down our road there was a MTA right across the road, on a rather steep hill....with many vehicles stuck because they had to stop. Why, when in Europe they can get 2 ft of snow and it's as if nothing has happened.

Sundays in my City

I took a walk a couple of weeks ago....right before it got really cold and took these photos near my village....this is on the way to duck pond, library. It got dark so I really couldn't take any more photos. One day I'll get down to the village, but it may not be for a while....we got 20in of snow tonight...the forecast was for blizzard conditions, but nothing happened all day so a lot of people were out...and very stranded. Most of the roads were blocked with trucks & buses skidded right across the roads. Glad I'm not still out there...I don't think they have much of a chance of getting rescued.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging and enthusiastic comments. Hope you don't get too tired of seeing our local area...I don't know when I'll be leaving it lol.
