I joined 52 Projects last week and posted my digital art...which i just started doing. (you can see some further down on my blog and above is a link to another blog where i've been keeping my treasures). Now don't think I've abandoned all my Sunday in the City crew....honestly it's been quite difficult getting the photos up each week, and I didn't have time this week to get them uploaded. And I have a lot of photos...and really need to start digging on my hard drive to find them lol...gosh our lives get congested so quickly don't they?
"52 Projects is an adventure in discovery. Every week, for 52 weeks, do something. Something you’ve never done before. Something you’ve always wanted to do. Something that scares you. Something that inspires you. Something that inspires others. Something that tickles your fancy. Something that caught your eye. Something that just popped into your head. It can be big. It can be small. It can be whatever you want it to be. Find out how doing something can lead you to discover things about yourself, your world, your God. Then, come here on Sundays and share it with others. I'll write about mine here, you write about yours on your blog, then use the tool in my post to link to your something. Please feel free to jump in and participate anytime throughout the year!"
This week I'm linking to my scarves, which I've just started knitting this winter. We don't have heat again this year due to the renovation...but my room is now toasty & warm with a little space heater...so when it gets really cold....like right now....I go upstairs and knit. I can't tell you how much this has been a blessing. My kids like to come into my room and lounge on the bed with me and just chat. I believe I've now discovered why knitters love knitting so much. It's not only the project they're doing....but it's something we can do while enjoying each other's company....or even while out.
Now at first I didn't think knitting scarves was much of a feat...until I started looking at designs & yarns....well that has definitely opened up some new ideas for me. And while looking around on other blogs of knitters, I discovered some people also dye their own yarn and weave. Isn't it amazing to see what happens when you dip your big toe in the ocean.
So now I have several scarves and am working this week on putting them on a blog to sell. My hubby goes to Starbucks every morning and knows everyone in town....he grew up here....and said he'll sell some. Knowing him he will. I said many years ago, if ever I worked the first income I make will go towards a housekeeper, so I have more free time to work and play. We'll see how it works out.
I'm off to do my next project....will see you next week!
