Watery Wordless Wednesday

You Are What You Eat - The Three Muses

I finally have internet again, since it's been raining Sunday, I haven't been able to get on.
I did this yesterday, not expecting to post it, but I actually didn't have anything to do
(apart from housework). So now I get to post it.

I chose a carrot theme because I'm madly addicted to carrot juice, could live on the stuff!

Lost in a Wilderness

I could get very lost in this place.

Mellow Yellow - Macro Monday

Have you ever seen a flower 1/2 bloom. I was so excited to finally see this daffodil starting to come out,
but a little surprised.

 MellowYellowBadge

This whole lawn was covered in crocuses shimmering in the afternoon light
when we took a walk down to the village last week. I felt a little bit like a fairy whilst taking these....yes, I've been watching Tinker Bell.

A blackberry view. I've been envying the iphone photos....but I have to say
while it isn't quite like it my little blackberry has taken some interesting pics.

And now this new blogger draft uploader is driving me nuts, it's taking way too long
and freezing my computer.

Enough of Winter!

Time to stomp all the snow off my boots, mop the floor, and put together a spring wardrobe.
One of my favourite things to do when the winter doldrums start humming.

Kuranda - Favourite Places in Australia

I'm going to start logging my travelling journeys...this is the first in the series.

In 1980, after a year of working, I left Sydney to travel Australia. We travelled by motorbike stopping every 100 miles or so to spend around 1 month, visiting the surrounding areas. In those days, and I'm sure even today, many young people coming from Europe and the UK to backpack around Australia, usually having spent some time trekking thru Asia first. It's quite common to meet up with 'new friends' from town to town during your travels.

Kuranda Railway Station

Kuranda is a small town in Far North Queensland adjoining the Barron Gorge National Park. As it is located very close to Cairns and the journey is scenic, it is an extremely popular day trip: the village is overflowing with visitors during the middle of each day. The reason? I would rate it as the most beautiful railway station I've been to. This is just a fraction of the plants and ferns covering the station.

I spent 1 month camping up in the bush above this station. We would climb down the embankment and cross the tracks to get to barron falls to bathe each day. I remember the first couple of nights we were there I would hear scratching in the bush, and what sounded like a women crying 'help'. Rather scary. I would strain my ear trying to discern whether or not I was hearing correctly. Relieved, we found out from the locals they were bush turkeys.

Catching My Eye

I'm a poster girl!!!

I used to own a lot of these old posters, but somehow on my travels they've been misplaced. One day, if my dream home happens, I'll buy some new ones.

Birthday Star - Art Creations Friday Challenge #67

This is a perfect background to finish off this collage I had to make when we did the other with the beautiful gold background a month or two ago. My 4yr old is turning 5 this weekend and she saw the other collage I made with one of my other daughters and was most upset she wasn't used for the picture. So I made one for her then, but of course never used it....so luckily it was saved in png and all I had to do was replace the background to make it ....hers! Just something special for my birthday girl!

Macro Week

I see promises of things to come.

Daffodils

The daffodil is the flower of Wales, and on St David's Day many people celebrate by wearing a daffodil. Perhaps you could wear daffodils today too?

St David's Day is celebrated in Wales and by Welsh people throughout the world on 1st March. To help you celebrate with your kids and learn about Wales and Welsh customs, we have put together a fun collection of ideas and activities including colouring pages, puzzles, jigsaws, printables and much more!
